MEET COACH TISH

Career Readiness Coach for Youth
Lethichia (Tish) Pope was raised in a single parent household with limited resources and no goals. With the support of family members, teachers and librarians, she motivated herself to set the following goals and achieved them: (1) raise her high school grade point average (GPA), (2) attend vocational school, (3) work part-time, (4) become an honor roll student, and (5) compete and win interviewing skills competitions through the Business Professionals of America.
To make up for her low GPA in high school, Tish achieved a 3.4 GPA when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master’s in Education (with an emphasis in Workforce Education and Development).
Throughout high school and college, Tish made it a priority to serve her community. She served as a “Volunteen” at a local library, tutored and mentored students through Big Brother Big Sister and a Somali refugee program, judged DECA preliminary / final competitions, and coordinated job shadow day and take-a-student-to-work events between a school district and state department.

Professionally, she has served youth and adults with disabilities and / or criminal backgrounds as an Employment Specialist, Job Developer, and Job Coach; taught business education to students at a career-tech high school; and served as a substitute teacher for a school district.

Today, she is a Workforce Education and Development Professional who provides career readiness and career exploration programs that reduce barriers to employment and improve the quality of life for other underserved youth and young adults.
